Mother of the year!!!

So I really DO consider myself a "Hands On" kinda mom, but this one takes the cake. A few nights ago we were all out playing football. Abby did the usual pile drive take down on Karson, and would NOT get up. Karson, being the good "we don't hit girls, or dad will deal with you" boy that he is was yelling for me to help. So I launched the football at Abby (aiming for her tummy, like that is any justification) when all of a sudden I hear a blood curdling scream from Karson. I hit him square in the eyeball with the football. NICE. That Sunday my loving son took great pride in telling everyone that his mom through a football at him, and then Monday, I went to my weekly volunteer time in Karson's class, and one of the boys says something like "I want my eye to look like Karson's", his teacher then says, "You will need to talk to Karson's mom about that one."

Needless to say, my parenting through football days are over. Her are a couple of pics of my handy work.

Abby The Warrior Princess...

In school, Abby is learning about different countries. This morning she asked if I wanted to see a dance she learned in school. Sure.....so funny.

Karson's Baptism

So finally I am getting around to posting some pics from Karson's baptism. It was such a great day, but started off pretty rocky. We were told to be at the church at 9:30 for the 10:00 service. But noone showed to the church until 9:50...so rush, rush, rush. We only got a few pics, but Karson felt and received so much love and support from family, and friends both old and new!! I want to thank EVERYONE who came, and some traveled very far to show their love and support of Karson's decision.
Karson was baptized, and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by my dad Frederick John Nydegger. The confirmation blessing that my dad gave Karson was THE MOST beautiful I have ever heard, and the spiritual power coming from that circle of men was almost overwelming. Thank you dad...I Love You!!

Then Karson's paternal Grandfather Frederick Raymond Kunz offered a beautiful prayer on Karson's behalf. Karson is so lucky to have such strong men, including his dad, that believe in, and teach their children and grandchildren about, and proclaim their love for Our Heavenly Father, and our Savior Jesus Christ.

This shows how hurried we were...we hurried and snapped this shot inbetween the other two baptisms that were happening that day. Not the most reverent of things, but I WANTED A FAMILY PICTURE!!

We had to practically tie Karson down to get a couple more shots when we came home. He was on cloud nine, and just a LITTLE hyper.

This is Karson with his Aunt Pammy. Karson asked her to give a talk on Baptism. She did such a great job, and really talked to the children which was nice. I know that she was SO NERVOUS but did a fantastic job....and is no longer afraid to speak in public for any occasion. In fact she wanted me to let all of blogger land know that she is willing to speak any time, any where!! :D Love you Pammy!!!

I also need to especially thank Mark, Melissa, and Corinne for playing and leading the music, and Shelly for yet again sharing her beautiful gift of a voice with us. On a final note I want to thank Aunt Corinne for the Baptism towel. Aaron told me that as he and my dad were waiting for Karson to get dressed, he yelled "This Baptism Towel ROCKS!!" Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Karson is very lucky to have such wonderful people in his life. Love to all!!

My Cute Girl!!

I have to just make this quick entry, as this is pretty much the closest thing to a journal that I have. I was just exploring the WWW, when cute Crazy Hair Abby comes in with her note pad and we have the cutest exchange.

Abby: Hello Miss, would you like some brefkass?

Mom: Well yes thank you..what do you have

Abby: Well we have toast, waffles, soup, salad, and shaghetti O's...oh and McDonald's.

Mom: Would I need to go and pick up my own McDonalds?

Abby: Well Yes!! I don't drive...you could also go to Arby's, whatever "Whatchuwant" you want.

Mom: Did you say restaurant?

Abby: Yes whatchuwant....you can have what you want.

All the while she is talking like an 18 year old semi valley, bff girl. She makes us laugh at something new everyday!!! Slow down princess, I'm not ready for you to be so grown up!!! Off to order brefkass.....

Put on the Whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11

I know that the title of my post seems a little intense, however, I feel like my it's been my Karson's theme for the last little while. Karson was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on March 28, 2009. What an amazing day, and pics will be posted soon. My mom made this wall hanging for Karson. It represents the different parts of the armour of God. In Karson's confirmation he was told in so many words that he would be a soldier for the Lord.

I can't think of a better reminder of that blessing, than another blessing from Gramma. The time, and love that mom put into this gift really did not go unnoticed. Karson loves it!!!

Karson actually hung this up in his room by himself (during a "Time Out" no less :D). He did it with such care. Thanks mom for helping to bring out the best in Karson. I love how the metallic materials light up when the light hits it just right. Another work of art Gramma. Thank you.

Gramma's Birthday Quilt

Today my mom and dad came up to give Karson two of the most beautiful gifts that I have ever seen. They significance of both are so important, that they both warrant their own posts. This is the birthday quilt that my mom made for Karson. It's actually version number two.

The first one was not "Perfect" so mom re-did it. So much time, effort and love was put into this quilt, and it sooo reflects Karson's personality, and interests. It has squares that have basketball, boy scouts, skiing, school, race cars, cute camo, and plaid. Thanks mom for these treasures...you are incredible.

Thanks Gramma, and Grampa for always making each child feel so important. WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

Such A Lazy Baby....

Let me first start of by saying that on a happy note, our whole family was together in the room this last Saturday morning when Luke, "Tank" as he is lovingly known as took his first steps. Both Aaron and I looked at eachother in amazement....it has been very important to me that because Aaron is away for so much, that he was able to see Luke take his first steps. So much so, that I even admitted to our pediatrician quite humbly that I had pushed Luke over a couple of times when it appeared he might walk. I know, I know, not my proudest moment, but I had good intentions.

Anyhoo...we were all able to see it and experience this MIRACLE together since he IS almost 16 months old. We did the whole "yeah Lukey!!" Then after he walked to me a couple of times, it occured to us that we should get the camera. And I swear this baby.....he would not, and has not walked since!

WHAT THE CRAP? So no pictures, and just a lazy baby. He even walkes on his knees, which seems to me that it would be harder than just walking. But it did happen. So I guess I am looking for suggestions to help me encourage him to keep walking...I know, not knocking him down would be the preferred route. We'll post pics when he decides he's ready for us to.
