36...Really?

As I type this post, I am reflecting on a wonderful day of Thanksgiving, and a fun day with family. I am bulging out of my britches. :) I am grateful for the peace that I feel in my life at this time on many levels expect for one...am I really going to be 36 tomorrow?

Ugh!!! I don't feel that old, and I know that some may say 36 is nothin, it's rough for me. The inside still feels like the sassy lil thing of old, then I see the crows feet, try to disguise the saggy boobs, and well... This is just another season of my life, which I love. I guess I will just have to come to grips with it. Who says I can't be old AND sassy? :)

Today, I am thankful for this little squaw.

She had an Indian Pow wow in her kindergarten class. I love that she loves to learn, and so grateful that she has such a wonderful, and caring teacher.

At school Karson read a book called Turkey Trouble. The turkey tried to dress up in many different costumes to avoid being a Thanksgiving turkey. Each child in the class dressed a turkey up. Karson dressed his turkey up like the Pokeman Pikachu. He has such a fun imagination. I am thankful for such a fun, and helpful 8 year old.

Thankful

Today, as I am reflecting on the upcoming holiday, as well as it being my birthday week I am pondering a pretty swell existance. Alot of my friends with blogging, and facebook have been writing everyday what they are thankful for. Today, I am just thankful that my kids made it through the day alive. I am grateful for this stage in my life, and try to enjoy everyday. I am grateful for the privledge of being a mother.

I am grateful for my best friend "Big Daddy", and for how hard he works for our family. We have been lucky enough to dodge the current economic crisis, while trying to prepare for what may come.

I am grateful for wonderful family, and friends old and new. I am truely blessed by the people around me.

I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who knows my needs, and the needs of my little family.

I am grateful for this time of year, when people (including myself) become less selfish, and self absorbed and start focusing on their fellow man.

I hope that everyone has a healthy, happy, and successful Thanksgiving!!

Bye Bye Mullet

My darling not so baby anymore boy FINALLY got a haircut. I have not cut his hair because I love it long...it just lays so nicely, unlike the other kids. But the mullet got to the point of obscene. So Aunt Pammy was nice enough to cut it for us. Not so much of a fun time, but I love it! It's still long enough, but not a ducktail mullet. :)

Isn't he a looker?

Fairwell Americus...

On July 4, 2007 Americus joined our family. This post may seem a little silly, and alot morbid, but our pets are part of our family, and we said goodbye to him today. Karson picked out this fish because it was the 4th of July, and he was a beautiful red, white, and blue. He then proceded to call him Americus. He moved with us, and grew old with us....I sound crazy. Abby took it very hard tonight as we flushed our little friend into the Big Swimming Pool in the sky..ground...wherever. R.I.P. Americus.

Halloween 2009

Halloween this year was BEAUTIFUL!!!

I was not so sure it would be because the week started out so bleak. The kids were excited to have alot of their cousins coming over for Halloween.

Abby was a butterfly fairy, which was totally fine with me, because we already had the costume from a previous year.

Karson was a really dangerous ninja...can't you tell by his foam sword, and serious look?

Cute Luke was able to wear a little frog costume that Shelly had. He was really not into this whole Halloween thing. He was very scard of everything he saw, and was content to hand out candy with Big Daddy at the trunk or treat.
We really had a good time at our neighborhood trunk or treat. You can't tell by the pictures, but there were ALOT of people there. BTW...don't the mountain look spectacular?

After trunk or treat we were able to have a nice soup dinner with Pammy, Mark, Corinne and their kids, as well as Mel, Ryan, and their kids. It was a great time. Thanks everyone for making the trek.
